Closer to you · last updated October 29, 2026
Closer to you is a private app used by two people. Nobody else can sign in, and nothing in it is public. This page explains what it keeps and why.
What the app keeps
- What the two of us write and add in the app: journal entries, voice notes, prayers, stories, videos, calendar events and settings.
- Our email addresses, used only to let the two of us sign in.
It's stored with Cloudflare, which runs the app. There are no ads, no tracking and no analytics.
Google Calendar
Connecting Google is optional. If you connect your Google account, the app asks only for permission to make its own calendar and manage the events in it. It cannot see or change any of your other calendars.
- It makes one calendar called “Us 💕” in your Google account.
- It copies our shared app events into that calendar, and brings changes you make there back into the app.
- It keeps your Google email address, a sign-in token from Google, and the link between each app event and its copy in Google.
That data is used only to keep the Us calendar and the app in step. It is never sold, shared with anyone, used for ads, or used to train AI models.
Closer to you's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Stopping and removing
- Tap Disconnect on the Google Calendar card in the app. The app stops syncing and removes its access token.
- You can also remove access any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- The Us calendar stays in your Google account until you delete it there.
- To have anything else removed from the app, email us below.
